Ok - so I admit it, I'm not a native born Richmonder - although I've lived here since the 3rd grade, and I was born in Hampton - so I am a Virginian.
What I've always loved about Richmond is we're
"Big Enough, but also Small Enough".
We can support - and do - all of the goodies of urban to rural living, but we aren't really overwhelmed with traffic and gridlock - other than in some pockets - like Short Pump on a Saturday afternoon! ![]()
I can also easily say that the Richmond I knew as a kid, no longer exists.
While we aren't perfect, and we have our issues, there is a lively sense that we live in a happening place, which means we consistently hit national sources as a place that is a draw for folks. That's good for all of us!
I even had a couple buy here because they want to start a Cidery. They lived on the West Coast and chose RVA because they felt we had the right combination of infrastructure, neighborhoods, business planning and interest to make their dream a reality.
So... as Kate is fond of saying...
while we weren't looking, RVA got way hip and cool!
And to just show us off, and to enjoy a nice outing, check out the drone of downtown that our photographer friend Roy Burroughs created. Pretty cool indeed!
